Long story short, I sold my '88 Shark to a gentleman from Virginia yesterday. He flew into Minneapolis to pick up the car and drive it home. I had no concerns about him doing so as I would have been more than willing to hop in it and drive almost anywhere myself.
Yesterday he drives from Minneapolis to Madison, WI. He leaves Madison early this morning and hits the road. At 7:20 AM my phone rings and it is the new owner of my car calling from the side of the road. Ohhh noo!![bowdown](https://rennlist.com/forums/graemlins/bowdown.gif)
It seems the trans started slipping on him and I guess it wouldn't shift out of 2nd gear so he shut it down. A friendly IL State Trooper stopped to assist him and called for a flat bed to pick up the car. Right now he and the car are at Napleton Auto Werks (Porsche dealer) awaiting a verdict.
Is anyone familiar with this dealership and do they have a clue when it comes to 928's? Are there any other gurus in the area that might be better suited to deal with a 928? I did find some good posts here regarding the slipping issue which I relayed to him via phone.
I'm pretty sick about the situation as this is NOT how a 928 ownership experience should begin for this poor guy...

Napleton is a long-time Porsche dealer based in Chicago. Over the years I've looked at several they've had on their used lots. I have no idea about their service quality. If Mike Schmidt sees this, he should weigh in.

My father bought Mercedes from that dealer group... according to him they are a bunch of crooks. Then again aren't all dealers? Try getting a hold of Dave, member DJC-928 he lives in Rockford.
