You are cordially invited to a weekend of 928* fun and relaxation for family and friends.
*Other models most welcome-
The gathering will be held at the Bastrop State Park (http://www.tpwd.state.tx.us/park/bastrop) 30 miles from Austin Texas on 17th (Sat.), 18th (Sun). For those driving in from outside the area, we will meet on August 16th (Fri.) late afternoon and evening at: The Loblolly Pine Village lodge(http://www.loblollypines.com/images/map.gif)
Lodging can be had at the beautiful Loblolly Pine Village (512-321-2499), just mention you are with the Porsche car group). Some individuals who are driving in from outside the area will be staying until the morning of the 18th at the Lodge listed above.
1) This will be a PCA event (Thanks to the Hill Country chapter,http://www.hcrpca.org).
2) We will have door prize goodies! Compliments of DEVEK!(http://www.devek.net/)
This itinerary is flexible and may change slightly depending on the turn out. If you have any suggestion or comments feel free to make them known as this is meant to be enjoyable and fun for all (significant other and kids included).
Friday night: Meet and Greet and maybe a late nightcap at the lodge (for those that partake).
Saturday morning: Meet and Greet new arrivals at the park; through the main entrance, bear right at the fork to Copperas Creek Camping Area- we have the pavilion there. Swim, Golf, Fish and what ever else we can fit in before lunch.
Saturday afternoon: An all you can eat (or till the food runs out, may want to throw a few dogs in the glove box) “Pot Luck style grill”, Tech talk that may include a few lite “how-to’s” and “how did you do that” and “why, oh why did you do that” sort of stuff over lunch at the Park Pavilion.
Saturday mid-late-afternoon: A scenic country drive with a few stops along the way. Route details coming soon.
Saturday night: Dinner plans still in the works.
Sunday morning: Repeat Saturday with a late morning drive to Round Top for lunch at the World Famous Royers Round Top Café & Bait Shop (crowds permitting). Save room for the pie!
Sunday early afternoon: Limp on home, groaning about the pie.
We hope to see as many of you and your 928s (or other) as possible. Help make this event a success.
Feel free to contact Donald Prescott at dwprescott@***-internet.com for lodging or general information.
Kindest regards
& good driving
Donald & Max
Special thanks to Dan Germain, President of HCRPCA

Count one "half-brother" in. Not sure how I'm going to do it as my company is moving that weekend, but I figure they'll need to break sooner or later!
When they do I'm headed your way!
At any rate, the 951 is going to ProTechnik on Monday for a check-up and some special stuff! I'll be the Guards Red 951 with the new SFR Cat Back exhaust! <img src="graemlins/burnout.gif" border="0" alt="[burnout]" />

Keith-
Great! And have fun at the ProTechnik shop. Had my wife's Tahoe on his dyno a couple of weeks ago w/ John Teague, and Sam has some good eye candy there.
Be looking for you in Bastrop,
Donald

Donald, The W/pump is on. I ordered the tensioner and belt yesterday from one of the big 3, it arrived this afternoon (better experience than some)and I should be back on the street Saturday or Sunday. Thanks for asking.

My 951 will be seeing dyno action as well. Sam's got a sale going for the month of August - $80 for three pulls. I'll be dynoing the car both before and after the SFR Cat Back goes on. I don't expect much improvement, but we'll see what the numbers say. Mostly after a bit more sound and a better looking exhaust tip. Unit looks very nice, so any extra performance will be icing on the cake.
Almost forgot, add the wife to the list - Joyce is looking forward to the trip as well.

Katy Tx, although a bit on the level side of flat, it's still the best dang goose hunting in the state
(from the eyes of a former Masson Rd. resident and FM road racer).
Donald, how are the routes coming?

All-
Okay, we're off! Between the last minute failures (battery, wiper motor) and self-inflicteds (socket thru headlight syndrome, detached intensive washer) and modifications (Max can tell you his later, it's a long list- including something about baby diapers) and sick li'l sharks, it's all come together.
15 RSVPs at last count headed toward the leading disorganized 928 event of this year! Hoping for a few more of you, especially you city slickers from Big D, Baghdad on the Bayou and Austin (the home of the largest community college in Texas). The San Antonio crowd jumped the gun and went last weekend (I said it was disorganized!).
Don't worry about the dress code, drive safe, & come on out.
e-mail me SOON for my cell phone if you need a contact point.
Cheers,
Donald

Don,
Just isn't going to happen for me...
The electical gremlins are preventing me from getting an Inspection sticker...everything else is well with Pcakes.
Take many pictures, preferably in focus.
Have fun.
