Post 928 Track Cars & Racers Web Site - chat added

Hi Shark Fans -

The 928 Racers Web Site now features a simple live CHAT room.
Look for the link in the site's header bar at www.928TrackCars.com

If a few people want to discuss something "live" online, here's a nice quiet place to get together. I'm pretty confident you won't be overwhelmed by a bunch of strangers dropping in on your conversation. <g> There are 3 chat rooms in addition to the main lobby, which should be about three more than we need for our small group.

It's convenient, simple, has no ad banners and it is un-moderated. The chat screen will open up in a new, resizable window so that you can participate in a conversation while still working or browsing rennlist.com or watching mud wrestling or whatever else you do while online.

The CHAT feature is java driven and has been tested under both IE and Netscape.

A huge "thank you" to everyone that has visited the site in the past week or so (over 2,500 of you!) and especially to those that have sent me suggestions and advice on how to improve the site (thanks C.S.!) And thanks to J.D. for his enthusiasm and support of the project... and to Matt Olde who continues to work with me on some issues. And of course the first eight 928 racers that have allowed me to document them: Mark, Kibort, Mark Anderson, Kim John Crumb, Don Hanson, Randy Faunce, David Lloyd, Jean-Louis & Agnes Picouet, and Mark & Susan Thomas.

What's left? Lots in the works. But the site will require your CONTENT. The site was built for you, the racers and race fans of the 928. The content has to come from you, not some editor...

Going to, or coming back from, a 928 track event? Post your write-up. Working on a 928 Track Car? Document your work so that others can see what you've done, and what you're doing... remember, visitors to your listing can post comments, suggestions and ask questions TO YOU, right on the site.

The whole idea of the site is to put the content in your hands. Got a buddy who's taking his 928 to the track... get him to start archiving his results on the site, or do it for him! Building a 928 track car? Document it! Get advice from others that have BTDT.

Anyway you use it, enjoy.

Michael, I authored a reply to this post but decided to start a new topic instead.

Hopefully it'll bring more exposure to your (our) cause.

Keep that site going bud.

Regards,
Pierre.
