Post headlights jammed

I switched my lights on and spotted them going up very slowly. So I got out to take a look and saw that apparently the cowl on one light popped loose and, how shall I describe it...flapped open inside the fender and caught on the opening of the hole around the light, basically jamming it there. With the engine off, I tried to turn the little **** on the headlight motor back down, just enough so I could get something flat in so the cowl would clear the opening, but that didn't want to work and I didn't want to force anything, so I simply left it. Now, my guess about fixing it would be to unhook the battery and go at it from underneath. My major question is what kind of screw can I use to attach the cowl so that they won't pop out? Who knows if the ones in either light are even the right ones, or of the nuts they go through are even there anymore?

The headlight 'pods' are attached using simple metal screws that screw into a slipnut.

That's what I found, Randy. But, I think the screws I have are just that. I may have to get some slightly oversized brass screws and fit them in.
