Default 18 Carrera wheels

No affiliation, I run the same wheels on my car.

FYI, those are the "heavy" Carrera III's. The circular bolt holes and the ridge surrounding them is the giveaway.

Strange, I weighed my "flat dish(16)" to compare, and no weight savings or gains

Which version does 928motorsports sell - same as these, or "light" ones?

Do you have the part numbers for the light versions? I've helped six friends find a set of these wheels, all factory and all the same part number.

Just curious.

If you are talking about these:
http://www.928motorsports.com/parts/carrerawheels.php

Versus these:
http://www.928motorsports.com/parts/...aIIIwheels.php

One is the 996 Carrera wheel, the other is the 997 Carrera III wheel. Or are you talking about a 997 Carrera III wheel that is a lightweight version?

The wheels on the eBay listing appeared to be the same as the 997 Carrera III's that 928motorsports sells. I was curious if there was more than one version of that wheel due to the mention of the eBay ones being the "heavy" variant.

They might be heavier than the Carrera Light Weight wheels but they do have a better ET on the front wheels for the 928 with 57mm compared to 50mm.
I run the older lighter version and it works just fine but it is not ideal.
(And I have no idea about the newer versions weight difference compared to the older)

I have these wheels on my car they seem to work well, the only thing I noticed is that the front wheels seem to kick up more stones so I installed front mud/stone deflector flaps, they are hard to see if your not looking. Otherweise i am happy and my set of wheels dont seem to be very heavy and i got the Bridgstones in the same size

I believe these are the lightweights, but don't have enough front offset [edit: Sorry Enzo, didnt see your post, I didn't know those came with enough offset]

23 and 26 lbs isn't terribly "light" - so I'd guess the other variants are not lots heavier regardless of the naming...

That's pretty much the info I needed. Thanks guys.

The CIII wheels are only slightly heavier that the "lightweight" 2002 5 spokes.... When I weighed mine (wheels and tires stock from an 2006 911) they were 24lbs heavier than the stock 16" forged (light) wheels-tires (with bald cheapo tires).... I can live with 6lbs per corner...since most of it is larger tires...the 02 5 spokes are only about 1lb per wheel lighter....not enough to make up for the wrong offset!

All other factors being equal (size, quality etc..) I would choose a proper offset over a lighter wheel any day.

I meant the OEM's are not heavy. You need to stick with OEM not replicas.
