IIRC yes, but you'll probably need more than just the inserts to make them work(top adjuster and mounts), also make sure you get the correct bilsteins for your MY

Thanks. I just bought an 83 for my wife. Myn best friend had just bought it and before he could get it back home, she layed claim to it. We are going to p/u another one that we found for him (5 speed like he wanted to begin with) and the owner has some used on for $100. BUT the 5 speed car is an 81.

I don't know how it works with the older cars but in order for me to put Bilsteins in my GTS I had to buy the springs from the GT bilstein sports package to make it work otherwise the ride height would have been too high.

We have a Bilstein/Eibach spring shock package which many, many 928s have been using for the last 15 years or so. I find it to be a nice improvement for a more solid ride more sporty feel. I would not drive a 928 with stock suspension (for long) ....but I never drive anything with stock supension
the wife's Grand Cherokee has Bilsteins / Eibachs , BMW 318 lowered with sport springs ...
