Post MOMO Automatic Shifter.....opinions?

I've only seen testimonials regarding the Jager tips in our 928s. I'm curious what the owners of these MOMO auto-shifters think:

They don't look to have the side mounting points, so how are they attached?

EDIT: I should mention that I saw these on DEVEK's web site: DEVEK

These shifter ***** have been installed on numerious cars. If you look closely at the picture, there is a chrome ring that covers (3) Allen Head screws which mount securly to the factory shaft. Once installed, the button operates flawlessly and the overall fit is great. You may be able to see photos of a few cars that had them installed during the last Devek track event.

Hey, Mr. Phat - great to see you drop in.

I've lusted after your car for awhile now. The custom interior is exceptional!

One last thing on the shifter ****, it is normally a 5 minute install.

Randy,
Glad you like the interior and I will continue to keep everyone posted of my changes.

I was planning on adding this shifter (not sure which) with the MOMO Millenium steering wheel. I can assure that I WON'T be adding black lights, racing stickers or NOS anywhere to the car.

The Momo Millenium steering wheel and the Momo Auto shifter in Black with Aluminum are a perfect match. This combinations looks really good with dark interiors and compliment one another. Very rich and racey.

My advice is if the MOMO shifter is comparable in price to the Jager shifter - go with Jager. It will nicely compliment that new steering wheel. You won't be disappointed - I wasn't.

It just comes down to personal preference.

Big Dave, I went with that exact combo the Millennium Wheel and the black Momo shifter, George or Phat928 is right when he says it looks nice. After all he saw mine after the install and the improvement in looks and feel is an upgrade I wish I had done sooner. The wheel is awesome it feels like you have a much crisper control of the car. I have pictures I will post as soon as I get my digital camera dock back from a cousin.
Also I think it looks more like a manual transmission shifter than the Jager Model, I am planning on getting the full leather boot to replace my polka shift boot, and then it will be complete. But with the jager one you can see the button on top, plus you have to pay more for a fancy button.
IMHO

Q: Is changing the shifter anything more than cosmetics???? I would assume that is all?

"Rice-Burner" -- I got the Fast and Furious DVD one day while shopping at Best Buy....a friend works for Turbonetics and knows some of guys who's cars are in the movie......he said it would be interesting....another friend's kids watched the DVD and now all they want is a "rice-burner"....since we both have Porsches we can't figure it out. Whats with kids these days? He needs a German child-guidance counselor!!!

ps I had a "rice-burner" and SOLD IT!!!!! Mitsubishi GSX running about 300HP....not nearly as confidence inspiring as my 928 at 100mph although the 5speed made it a little more fun.

What?! Replace that expensive and classic black plastic T? Are you guys Crazy? When the leather comes off, it is nothing short of a Masterpiece!

Dshulik:

It is merely cosmetics… however the shifter is now a more smooth motion because you can shift with your palm and you don’t have to use your thumb to depress a button, like the T handle. And the actuation is more fluid so it feels more velvety (word of the day) when you shift, If that makes sense.

Ive got the Jager shifter..LOVE IT. If you want to, its kinda of cool being able to take the plunger out when you park the car thus leaving the car for all purposes stuck in park! I got mine for looks at first, to update from the "T"...now i like the way it feels and performs. Very Happy! Have got quite a few complements as well.
Having seen so many MOMO wheels in cars at DEVEK Day i ordered a MOMO Fighter from them yesterday. I went with the Fighter because i prefer the eccentric shaped horn pad/centerpiece over the round part i saw on other models. All personal choice, as it should be in our individual cars!

forgot to add..

my vote goes to the guy who had what looked like an f-16 stick in place of the "T". VERY INGENIOUS! WOuld be awesome to have all the individual buttons wired to accessories! radio, lights. blinkers...Perhaps too gimicky but gets my vote for creativity!
