Default Looking at a 1981 928 need advice

My friend is looking at a 1981 928 super clean with 22,000 miles. What are the problem areas to watch for? They are asking $11,500 is this a good price?
Bubble wrapped, heated storage car no rips or tears in the interior, engine bay is clean no leaks.

Figure 3-6K to redo the engine and other dried out bits & pieces. Good luck!

Since it is a unique car with such LOW LOW miles there is no market value , no "good price" only what it is worth to you ! That said $11,500 is very little money in todays scheme of things ...some 1981 928s however are not worth $1,000.

Buddy, There are a lot of 928 guys in Detroit area who can help check the car out. Big Dave, Andrew, Chaad, etc, etc. I am a car nut too, but I struggle to fill my car with petrol. Good luck, Bigmac

ya never know,it may be a really high mileage well preserved EuroS 4.7l
I recommend you look at ChuckZs LOW LOW mileage 78 and compare the 2 to get a gauge on what it may be worth to you

If it sat for a long period of time be prepared for seals to possibly start leaking. Obviously I can't guarantee this would happen because there are alot of factors, but my 81' was mint and looked great. Drove perfect for awhile then poof! Cam seals went, vacuum leaks, and a blown headgasket. These cars cannot sit around, they have to be driven or everything dries up. My car sat for around 4-5 years before I got my hands on it though.

Jim-is right, it is no land rocket in comparison to the later cars but it's still fun as hell to drive and very intimidating.
