Some jerk hit and ran my 86.5. No major damage besides some small cuts into the front bumper cover and the beading between the fender and cover. Also there are rubber and whiteish paint scuffs I'd like to remove to get it looking a bit better. Anyone know of a good product that will remove this stuff and not harm what might be left of my paint and clearcoat?

Hi JE,
Use terry cloth. Start with Klean Strip – Prep-all. If that fails try Meguire’s: cleaner, then polisher. If all else fails: Try from course to fine: Dupont or 3M: rubbing compound, then polishing compound. Then go back to Meguire’s: cleaner, polisher, then wax. Be conservative.

You can start with a solvent based cleaner......if that doesn't work, try some light abrasive compound, i.e. Meguires. If that doesn't work, use some 3M super duty rubbing compound, by hand. If that doesn't work, you can go with a 2000 grit sandpaper, and wet sand (with lots of water) the area, then work back to life with some compounds and a good high speed wheel.
Be careful if you wet sand, as sometimes it can be very easy to break through the clear. You will need a high speed wheel and a good compound to get rid of any scratches the sandpaper leaves.
I would expect an abrasive compound will do the trick for you.
