still need all the parts to mount the alternator. Looks like the PO grounded the car and the old alternator was removed by impact...

Have you diagnosed the original one? I was able to just buy and replace a brush set on mine to restore output. On my prior '85, I took it to a local auto electric shop and asked for a repair without disclosing what it was out of....forty bucks and a new diode or two (or something) later, I was good to go.

MIne had no alternator when I bought it. I was told the alternator was removed for rebuild and the PO aparently passed away before he got around to reassemble.

But now that I looked at it, it seems that there was some sort of impact or accident and the bracket broke off and is completely missing. The area on the block where the long bolt goes in has some damage as well. I hope this will not turn into a mjor issue...

Since it is hard to imagine how it all comes together, it would be great if someone could take a picture for me from a complete one.

Sab if it's not installed yet. Look into the Delco CS130. 105 amps!
