16V Head rebuild, Valve rotators

Default 16V Head rebuild, Valve rotators

I have 2 pair of 16V heads (USA)
One set has valve rotators (Porsche calls them guide discs) on the Intake and Exhaust valves.
The other pair uses the rotators on the Intake Valves only.

The valve seats are cleaner with use of the rotator than without.

Did Porsche use the rotators on both valves or not, or maybe some heads but not others?

Ok answered my own question. Parts book calls for rotators on both intake and exhaust valves.

Has anyone rebuild 16v heads before?

I had mine sent out to be rebuilt because they were warped. If you blew a headgasket make sure you have that checked. If they are you will have to have them machined. I just finished the whole top end rebuild a couple days ago.

How were they warped & what did they machine?

These heads are close to worthless, I'd buy used straight heads before trying to "fix" a set.
