Default Going to the Sun ~ Montana

We met not far from our 'farm' this morning ourselves, 2 other 928s and a Stealth turbo.

Rich and Warrens '85s (both of the 'List), my '88 and Bruce's Stealth tore down the highway, passed the border (barely) and drove to Sun on this last weekend that its open. The trip was very varied in the roads from very tight 25mph stuff to major sweepers and straights hitting close to 130. An enjoyable late lunch East Glacier and then tore up the roads again heading North.

We came home for previous obligations but the rest were staying over for more serious fun.

Thanks Rich for organizing the trip .............it was a blast, 530kms in total making a great fall Saturday.

We made it back across the border ok safe and sound but have a major bug clean to do tomorrow.

Can't wait for next year.............

WOW your fast...

You posted before we even arrived home.

Sunday was another great day with a quick 9 holes of golf, breakfast in East Glacier and on through the twisties. A quick rip up to Pincher Creek and a bunch of traffic on the way home to Calgary after a quick brew in Bragg Creek. Great weekend awesome weather and nice to meet another 928 owner in person.

I'll post pics tonight!

That car goes quite well. Then again its really not a Chrysler and I believe you may know how good the pilot is

Its was a great time Brian, we missed you; even though Wendy and I didn't stay over at the spectacular East Glacier hotel............next year.

Helen and I were there at the end of July / beginning of August. South side was kind of smokey from the various forest fires. And they were doing some construction here and there.

Was it still that way?

Oh yeah, and we weren't in the shark, unfortunately. Drove a rental from Spokane, where we were visiting Helen's dad.

You'll probably recognize some of the following:

We managed to buzz up to Canada for a few hours, too.

A little smokey and a couple of construction spots but still spectacular.

Aren't those beams an engineering marvel inside the East Glacier hotel?

The Prince of Wales hotel in your last pic is also gorgeous and is only an hour away from home; should have given us a shout.

I think i have been in that lodge before when i was 12ish....I dont remember seeing those roadside views though. I was probably too young to appreciate it anyway. I will have to get back to Montana sometime. Do they still have the unrestricted highways in daylight hours?

I do remember a few signs posted on the way to St. Mary's. I believe they said something ridiculous like 25 and 35mph. Of course I would have done these slower speeds if I wasn't trying to keep up with Figgen...
