radiator coolant loss question
Just replaced my rad about three months ago and all has been fine since. Today as I was getting gas to head up to hollywood for a wedding, the check coolant light came on. On a sealed system I shouldn't be losing water, right? I checked the oil and all looks fine. Any idea's? Loss was about a 1/4 inch

New rad says that rad hose clamps were the last thing touched .... so should be the first thing checked
A coolant system pressure test is the next step ... but if all else fails, look for dried coolant stains on the top and back of the expansion tank ( unless you have a fresh tank ... ie << 15 years old): when beginning to fail, cracks appear - and only open when hot. Fools many into believing that it is a closed system
