John, at first glance your TT conversion looks surprisingly simple. I was expecting to see a maze of plumbing in every nook and cranny under the hood.

john, Why are the standard air intake ducts and airbox still in place? I would have thought they would have been obsolete once the presurised turbo system was added.

The system isn't all that simple.......there is quite a bit of pipe. The trick was keeping the stock air cleaner and air inlets. The air is not pressurized until after the air cleaner and intake system. No dyno graphs, but based on performance numbers the HP is around 400 or so.....it depends on the air temperature.

WOW! That looks great. A lot more efficient than a supercharger. I'd love to see that flat torque graph. Any interesting road stories with unsuspecting Stangs or Vettes??

looks well implemented. I have an '81 also and would love to get some more power. How bad was the whole jobs cost and complexity? Are you happy with the performance, driveablilty overall? Would you do anything different?

Personally, I would integrate two Z-Engineering centrifugal blowers into a setup. The costs are much less then using a turbocharger, and it would be easier to install. Drop some high flow injectors and a fuel enrichment system, and you'll be in business. I'd bet you could do that conversion for under $8,000. The cost to install what is shown in the photos was $17,000 back in 1983...........it is a PITA for maintenance. If you are looking to go to forced induction, take a look at the Z-Engineering blowers.
