Default Another oddity, door lock...

Needed to bring my .45 in for the night -door pocket-, trotted out to the garage stuck the key in in the lock and turned.
The door lock acted sluggish, as always, and made the usual electro-mechanical sounds and the button finally poped into view.
In other words it worked just like the battery was hooked up.
But the battery is NOT connected.
How can the lock act and sound as if it is powered when there is no power, as the battery is diconnected
No matter/anti-mater pods, nuke fuel rods, nor Back to the Future' devices to be found.
Ideas, thoughts welcomed.

Well unless the other side's lock also popped open - thats just the way it goes... by moving that sides mechanism with te key you are actually moving the motor that is used to electrically lock & unlock - so its not really so different...

Sounds like a case of demon possession. Good thing you had your .45 with you.

It must have been deja vu from a future experience. *Disclaimer: Due to variances in the perception of reality, the words you see may not be the ones I typed.

Mine don't make the mechanical noise when the battery is unhooked.

Doesn't the vacuum system play a part in the central lock control? Could the existing vacuum have opened the other door lock when the key was turned on the driver's side?

Correcto-mundo on the vac Herr Kelly.
I was fixin' to ask if anyone would try thir locks with batt disconnected...
so thanks.
So, ah..., I should chalk this up to parasitic loss on the BIG Scale? :<)
Well even though I never noticed this apparition of power before it doesn't seem to
be a major issue like crank walkTB failure, or a half shaft departure.
But the condition does make me wonder.
Thanks
