My first problem post may be irrelevant. Voltages seem to working correctly. Brought my 86 S in from Seattle and, of course, it won't smog in CA. Mechanic (calls 928's Porsche Mechanic's Retirment Plan) said needed O2 sensor and cat converter. Bought aftermarket direct fit cat and direct fit O2 sensor, to find that some previous owner/mechanic fried the O2 sensor heater wiring (insulation melted off the wires, up through the harness, all the way back to the W block on the panel). Have rewired the heater circuit of O2 sensor but would like to know where MP VIII is located in the engine compartment. Manuals (scan copies on CD) show location to be middle of engine comprtment but no specific location description. I want to cut the remaining O2 wire heater from ground in case it poses a short circuit risk to O2 signal wire or others.
Thanks for your help,
Dennis

Beautiful, thanks, I will see if I can get to it .... want to cut out the fried ground wire of O2 sensor heat circuit, just in case it melted through insulation of another wire in the harness. (No solid grounds by my ohm meter, but want to be safe.)
