Default dipping my toe back in the water

Hi folks, been a long time since I was around. I've been through a variety of cars since my last 928 and I'm thinking about getting another one. So here's my question. Is it possible to find a nice 'S' with no stories, needs nothing?

But seriously, I have not decided on what car I need but a 928 is high on the list. So if anyone knows of a good S with all recent service, *perfect* AC (and I'd prefer one with rear air), then by all means let me know. 5sp is a bonus, preferably in the southeast. Thanks!

Well, it's not an S, it's not in the SE, and it's not perfect, but it was really sweet a few weeks ago. Help a guy out, while getting a good deal and saving a shark?

Was rear air available on the S model?? Thought that came about with the S4s & newer models?

I have rear air in my 86.5 (of course it doesn't work, but that's a different thread)

yeah I was wondering if perhaps the 86.5's had it available, but I guess you just hear of it mainly in the S4's & up is all.

No matter how many trials and tribulations one might have with these cars, once you've owned and driven one, they are hard to get away from. I sold my first one, and as it was pulling away from my house, I said to myself, dang that is a good looking car. Bought another one 3 1/2 years later.

I think I looked at an 85 that had it. My 86.5 does.

I think the rear air was an 85+ thing, and it would be nice. I really enjoyed my old 928 even though it cost me a bleedin' fortune. If I could find a nice one that wouldn't need large cash infusions, that's what I'd have to do. I like the S models the best, and of course of those the 85, 86 and 86.5. I'm keeping my eye out.

I've hit some employment issues, my '83 Euro may be on the market in not-too-long. No rear AC but the standard climate control works well (in celsius). 5 spd, etc, in Northeast.

God help me, I'm looking at Mustangs. My wife asked me to please consider something that would be inexpensive to repair with really good a/c. We got burned pretty badly by my last 928 and she's very gun-shy. It was a project car (I knew it going in) that had to become a daily driver and it just wasn't good for that.

So anyone care to come to my defense? Say I find an excellent 85S with all maintenance up to date. Will it make a good daily driver that won't bankrupt me? I need ammo.

I appreciate it, but I'll have to smog the car and a euro is just too much trouble. Good luck.

Tell her how much hotter she'll look in a 928 (and she will) than a Mustang.
Maybe if you can appeal to her fashion sense, like picking out a hot outfit for her, she will see it like that and not just as a practical transportation matter. Like how a nice pair of Italian leather high heels look a lot better on a gal than a pair of Doc Martins...
Just a thought, can't hurt to try that angle

Believe it or not, she actually liked the 928 and said she would love to run sharks in the mountains. She was under the car with me helping change the clutch and did a lot of other small things. She's just afraid of big repair bills on a car that's my primary driver. She'd like it better if it was just a weekend fun car.

I have a 85 euro s that has smog controls on it, just replaced t belt, fuel filter and pump and final had a speedo shop get all the gauges working, all in the last year. If is was to keep it i would replace shocks and tires. other wise runs good.no rear a/c not the coldest a/c but works
