9/28/2003 Third Coast of Texas 2nd Annual Sharkfest 928 Extravaganza
Well, now that Jeff Frahm (almost) has his 928 back and J. Struthers is out of his coma (you ask 'did it happen?' It was front page news!- on Rennlist, anyway) maybe it's time for a 2peat.
Dates:
The number one item people asked for last year was cooler weather, and it is cooler this year.
Pick one...
Venue- ? Coin toss, with all the cool microclimates for which Texas is famous, this won't be easy!
P.S. where the hell is Max?

Sounds good! Personally, I don't mind the heat as long as there's some shade around, and if a spot in somewhere in central TX is selected, the drop in humidity will be a treat for me. 9/28 falls on a Sunday this year, and it's definately cooling off by then.
There's a Max on this board, but I don't know if it's our Max.

Anywhere in the Hill Country would be great. The roads on the coast are flat and straight (boring). No excuses this year for the 79. Max, where have you been? New User#?

Hay all, well been a bit busy down here in the south. Have had little time to keep up on my Rennlist reading or get engaged in any long running threads.
Not quite sure why the need for a new user number, but it was a lot easier than trying to get logged on my old account. I'm sure I messed up something
Donald, I've been up your way a few times in the last six months, but have had a hard time getting you on the phone.
Don, did you get the Euro running yet?
Anthony, Paul and John it will be great to finally meet you guys.

I'm in. Got just one date conflict B4 late
August. Am happy with any convenient locale.
Glad I got my car back, because my backup plan just went away. I was bidding on the silver '88 5-spd. on E-bay, and had it up to 14.3k, and found out the dealer took a walk-in contract on it for $9,500.00 UGH!! He ended auction early. I think Ebay is a scam, unless private owners are involved.

anything near San Antonio, Schlitterbahn, Austin Triangle could get tough locating lodging.

I must sadly admit, that I have not gotten the euro running yet. I fully intended to get on it during the cool months, but stuff just kept coming up. Did get the gas tank re-mounted, along with the fuel pump/filter. I think its ready for some fuel, and I need to jump the pump relay and run some gas through the lines next, but of course now the heat index in Houston is 115! Just the act of walking to the garage has me sweating heavily.
I haven't been to Blanco SP, but it looks like it's in a nice area, so sounds good to me.
I'll send a link to this thread to all the Houston area owners I have emails for and see if we get any responses from them.

Sterling, if you could show up at all I know many would be pleased to have the chance to talk about your project even if you showed up in an old Honda I'm sure no one would care.
