Zackazilla and I will probably be down there Thursday, preceding the festivities. Actually, would like to be further south even earlier in the week to visit the inveterate Rockport fisherman and cruise up with the southern compliment of sHARKs.
If that doesn't come to pass is there a gathering point, ( breakfast, lunch, watering hole ... ) location for the early birds?

Excellent! Missed you last year. We will be posting more activity & pre-meet rendevouz info. Max & I will be heading over Friday night/Saturday morning (SWMBO is still on holiday, so I don't have my orders yet).

Well, I can't believe that Ernest and I are the only ones that want to go touring around the hill country Saturday, well I'm hopping for a few more eager participants willing to push the limits between Saturday and Sunday!

What day's are you Scouting?
I must have missed the dates somewhere...
Would have been good yesterday or today but ... in the end...
wasn't sure of the dates.
Was going to sneak down there and put up a bunch of
Kilroy was here signs...
Sharon was spending $$$, Kay was down with Strep throat - thanks neighbors-, and Zack is wandering around Dallas.
Would have been a good weekend to escape from the Permian Basin.

The Scouting party is going out Saturday August 2nd, thats two weeks from now. Drop me an email (email address on the Sharkfest 2002 site ). I will put you on the list for the Sharkfest Scouting party!.
I've been waiting for peoples input on dates, but everyone seems to be open to any Saturday.
Next Saturday the RGV Coastal bend PCA is having their Saturday Brunch Run, and there are a few of the same 928 owners that want to be part of the scouting party are going to the Brunch Run event (including myself), so next Saturday is out.
I know this would be kind of early in the morning for you guys in the Corpus area, but if any of you would like to try and make it, here is a link to the RGV Coastal Bend PCA site and CBreeze news letter . In the news letter scroll down to Rene Molina's "RGV area report" (Rene is our local PCA Rep. and a 928 owner!) bottom of the 3rd page, there you will find details of next Saturday's event. Also I just found this one on their NEWS page Brunch Run.

Just FYI everyone, we currently have 19 cars & drivers, plu 22 SOs and family. We haven't announced to the Austin & San Antonio clubs yet so this could be the biggest Texas Fest yet.

My understanding from Max is that the scouting trip was called off due to an oil leak. Not sure if anyone from other parts of the state made it or not.
As for lodging, I and another couple from Houston have booked rooms at the Swiss Lodge http://www.hprk.com/swisslodge/. A couple of weeks ago they had about 6 rooms available. I tried calling the Mobley Hotel (the only other motel in town) and had a bit of a hard time communicating with them, YMMV.
