Okay-
here is a link to the facility we have reserved for Sunday, 9/28:
<a href="http://www.tpwd.state.tx.us/park/blanco/gpp1pics.htm" target="_blank">http://www.tpwd.state.tx.us/park/blanco/gpp1pics.htm</a>
(this one actually has a kitchen, so they say...)
Sat. the 27th is not available.
Fishing is included in the $3 entrance fee (John S.!), or close to it.
I have never been to the park, but many of you know what a pleasant stream the Blanco is.
Be there! Tell everyone, Give us a headcount. (yeah, right!

Great!
I see a nice looking smoker in one of those pictures. I'll bring some wood for it, and a briskette.
I don't think there's many hotels around the park. Travelocity isn't showing any in the small towns around there. San Marcos might be a good option. Probably a 30-40 minute drive to the park. There are also screened cabins at the park, but no A/C.
Wimberley is a nice town but I'm only finding one kindof pricy place there, Blair House.
Camping is always an option, but there's no way I'm going to try that in the 928. Could bring 2 cars I guess.

I found a few on the net but have not called any of them yet.
<a href="http://www.bbonline.com/tx/blanco.html" target="_blank">BB's #1</a>
<a href="http://www.blancotex.com/businesses/bed-breakfast.htm" target="_blank">BB's #2</a>
<a href="http://www.blancotex.com/businesses/motels.htm" target="_blank">Motels</a>
Spoke with the bose and it looks like we will be heading up on Friday the 25th (time unknown). I'm sure we could find some back roads with litle traffic on Sat. for a little spirited hill country driving.
If anyone else is looking to do the same, maybe we can find a hotel/motel or B&B that has room for us all.

Max-
Sounds good, I haven't been able to check w/ SWMBO on any of this yet, but I like the retro "Swiss Lodge"- redolent of those places we stayed in on our '60s (close enough!) road trips, but with fresh paint. Doesn't have a pool though.

Linda and I will arrange to be there.
We will probably spend the night in SA and drive the 45 minutes to the park early Sunday morning.
Looking forward to meeting everyone. <img border="0" alt="[cheers]" title="" src="graemlins/beerchug.gif" />
Hopefully I'll have part of my Ostrich interior done so I have something to show you guys.

Champagne,
How come your ostrich needs a new interior? <img border="0" alt="[ouch]" title="" src="graemlins/c.gif" /> <img border="0" alt="[ouch]" title="" src="graemlins/c.gif" /> <img border="0" alt="[ouch]" title="" src="graemlins/c.gif" />
Pam and I will be there if I can get the damn AC compressor to work right and fix my overheating problem.

Paul-
Great, glad you can make up for missing last year- and ESW said it best LOL
Ernest-
Welcome! don't let a little a/c deficiency hold you back. As to your overheating problem, try taking a deep breathe and counting to ten- works for me!

Well,
I got the AC problem licked, now to run the beast and see whether it still overheats. I may be looking at a Devek radiator before long.
Donald,
I've got a Valium lick in the garage for personal overheating problems.

I'm in..
Now to break out the atlas.
As to the fishing, Zack has seen the flick of Anthony's catch and is trying to figure a way to convert a kayak into a trawler.
BTW He turns 16 in August and if we can convince the State of Texas that a Certificate of Live Birth issued by the U.S. Embassy in in Soeul, South Korea -Republic Of- is valid then he should be driving Pattycakes part of the way.
Lemme see; clean T shirt, change of undies, and socks, camera, tools, fluids,...
Hope there's room for a grocery/bait run...
P.S.
Paul, when the bottom fell out of the Ostrich egg and meat market the Big Bird ranchers just let a lot of em' run wild, they show up in the strangest places followed by a a couple of County Sheriff bird wranglers. Let me know if if you need a few more square yards of leather.
Our main concerns up here is if they either start roosting in the trees - "I wouldn't park there if I were you, Mister"-, or that they cross breed with the buzzards. Christ, it's as big as a Cessna 152! That'll be a one of a kind interior.
