Default GTS Oil Pan Baffle

I've got one here so I may as well put it in. (Just changin Rod bearings/ pan gasket/ MMs/ Rack re Seal etc.)

Anyone got a picture of one installed ? It looks fairly obvious where it fits but some reassurance would be nice. And is there a spring involved ???? THe bag with the bolts in has a spring about 2" long and about 3/8" dia and I can't imagine why you'ld need a spring.

TIA

When I had my oil pan gasket done in Santa Monica before I drove the car home for the first time, I asked for that baffle to be installed. But I have no way of verifying that it was actually done... I hope I won't have a "surprise" when some day the oil pan comes off again...

I installed the GTS baffle to my S4. Basically the job is just to drill the holes for the bolts, clean up shavings and tighten the bolts. No spring needed.

Thread finsihed. Thanks Stan - looks just like mine does except mine is cleaner. Another check in the morning for Oil pan shavings and the pan goes back in. So do I send the spring back to Jeannie ? thats where it came from about 4 years ago. I suppose the big question is what is the spring for? who ordered something from D and J about 4 years ago that should have had a spring that they didn't recieve but I did.

Anybody want a spring ?

Cheers

I don't think that the GTS baffle is worth installing. When I added it there was no improvement in oil ejection. I'm reminded as well of someone (Don H?) who had it come loose.

FWIW- Here's a clean one installed over a OB-style screen cover.

I'n very happy with the Ishihara-Johnson windage setup. That is lots more $$. Kevin Johnson at I-J did send me an experimental sump cover that was really sweet as an early attempt. It was very much better than the GTS cover and there's a pic on the following page.

Here's some saga:
