Speed Bumps on Tail of the Dragon???
Sources tell us that The Tennessee Department of Transportation today announced that will install 99 speed reducers (speed bumps) on US 129 (Known as “The Dragon” by local motorcycle enthusiasts in 2008, including 35
new reducers at “priority areas” identified as trouble spots.
Speed reducers have been shown to be among the most effective of all
traffic calming devices at reducing vehicle speeds, and since 2004 DOT has installed
more than 200 of them in the vicinity of schools in and they proved to be a effective deterrent
“Speed reducers are one of a number of tools we’re using to encourage
drivers to slow down and take a little extra time to navigate the dangerous curves on this stretch of road “Keeping our citizens safe on their way to and from the resort areas in North Carolina.
Repeated calls to the North Carolina DOT asking if they would follow Tennessee’s lead in installing speed deterrents on the North Carolina portion of the road have not been returned.

Increase ride height. Soften the springs just a bit. No problem...
Doesn't matter anyway - according to the link Aatos posted its BS.

How can they install speed bumps or speed humps on a twisty road like this? Wouldn't this create a huge problem for even the regular drivers?

well guys after a very speedy response from TOTD, here is what they had to say about it:
"Rumor .... we have confirmation from TNDOT that this is not true. We
also have a physical copy of the plans to make the Dragon safer. For
the
most part they are positive. No speed bumps.

I am not sure but I do not think they can use this type of item on a public road. It would also slow down emergency vehicles using this roadway.. and that could even be more deadly that fast drivers...
