Ding ding ding...winner (loser). I found my TB warning was intentionally grounded to the block with a spliced wire.

No, it's just a disease of the mind. Makes them act as a collective of stupid f*cks.

Was the work order dated during a winter month? Those MINUS 40 winters up there - Blame it on brain freeze.

My father used to do maintenance for the NJ Air National Guard.

One time the report from the pilot said: 'Evidence of brake fluid on right main landing gear' (or something). My dad's reply: 'Removed evidence'

NOTE: He actually made sure it got fixed too, but wanted to put that in the notes to get a rise out of the guy that wrote it.

See, this is the kind of stuff that drives me nuts! Any self-respecting mechanic/tech would know that you --never-- use a splice when grounding the sensor wire. The splice could come loose or get corroded, and the light would come on for no reason. --Always-- connect these directly to ground or risk losing a good customer when that annoying light comes on!

I think the problem was not on the part of the mechanic. It was on the part of the customer. Clearly the request was. 'Make it so that damned light doesn't keep coming on all the time!'. Problem solved.

A P.O. long past must have loaned my 86.5 to his 14 year old. I hate to think that an adult would paint the intake and wings, with both on the car and with no regard to the MAF and hoses underneath. Yes, there's a considerable makeover scheduled for next year.

One of my all time favorite modifications.

Don't worry I'm working on a mock-up on a 928.

That trailer set-up is too funny....does that piece of wood supporting the tailgate actually have a dowel in it to fit in the hitch receiver properly? Man, that's quality right there.......

Yup wooden 4x4 with nipple in the hitch reciever to tail gate for "support""...you can never be too careful.

I discovered--after owning the car for around 3 years--that the VIN on the front end of my car is a ZZZ. Not quite the equivalent of vise grips holding pinched brake lines, but it must've been quite a project for some PO.

BTW, the carfax for the VIN on the A pillar is spotless.

I think all the VIN's inside the engine bay are ZZZ.
