I used mine once and it really struggles to fill the tire. Thing was so hot you couldn't touch it. There has to be a newer or after market pump that works better.

I picked up an electric pump with the brand "RoadForce," and not only does it have higher output (i.e fills tires faster), but it is physically smaller. It's also a cheap ($14, iirc), Chinese product, so it'll probably break shortly, but so far, so good, and I've used it a couple of times.

These kinds of pumps are all over the auto parts stores. Some even have flashlights built in, which is cool.

Mine's never been used so nothing to compare to the cheap-o wal-mart special that rides in the car now and does the job fine. That one has only been tested on the Explorer tires a few times, and you can send out for pizza while it huffs and puffs and buzzes a bigger tire full. I "blew up" the plastic housing so it's just the compressor and the little electric motor now. Much smaller, leaves room for trash bag poncho/ground cloth/tire bags, gloves, extra belts, small toolkit, quart of oil, etc that need to go somewhere and won't with the big black Porsche compressor box in there. I will have to resist the urge to grab the thing until it's cooled off a bit though-- it gets really hot!
