On Friday, I was able to log .5 hours of instrument time in the shark on the Blue Ridge Parkway <img border="0" alt="[king]" title="" src="graemlins/r.gif" /> 3 takeoffs and landings too! <img border="0" alt="[oops]" title="" src="graemlins/oops.gif" />

Nothing beats hard-IFR to keep a guy sharp <img border="0" title="" alt="[Eek!]" src="eek.gif" /> ........ unless of course it's hard-IFR in a non-IFR equiped craft. <img border="0" alt="[oops]" title="" src="graemlins/oops.gif" />
Bet THAT was FUN!! <img border="0" alt="[hiha]" title="" src="graemlins/roflmao.gif" /> <img border="0" alt="[hiha]" title="" src="graemlins/roflmao.gif" />

Brian, an old Comanche, especially in the foothills and mountains sounds like a blast.
Been fly'in heavies for 12 yrs now, and I can certainly say that I've had the most fun when I had one EGT.

Mike, a buddy of mine just started a little sked outfit out here and shepherds a hord of 20-some 737's (-200 and -700) around the Great White North. <img border="0" alt="[thumbsup]" title="" src="graemlins/bigok.gif" /> I've managed to get quite a few hours in the jump-seat doing W&B calculations with pax numbers, pit-weights and fuel up-loads, chattering with "company" to deliver the numbers, and bugging the "cabin attendants".......... <img border="0" alt="[hiha]" title="" src="graemlins/roflmao.gif" />
until 9/11 that is. <img border="0" alt="[grrrrrrr]" title="" src="graemlins/cussing.gif" />
That took all the fun outa having a friend with jets! <img border="0" alt="[crying]" title="" src="graemlins/crying.gif" />
But the sim is still a riot when I can get time on it. <img border="0" alt="[ouch]" title="" src="graemlins/c.gif" />

Brian if your "friend" ever needs some help flyin' the guppies around...give him my name!
[WestJet?]
Of course...I've only got FAA certificates, and Transport Canada kinda frowns on them. Oh well.
Calgary's a nice town; I spent most of the Fall of 2001 driving 727's into there for Emery. The big greasy spot on the cargo ramp is where we parked "Jurrasic Jet". The kewl part is that we stayed there for over 24 hours at a time, and there was an indoor go-cart track next to the hotel. Talk about a kewl overnight!
Greg- It was great to meet you too. I'm still fascinated with your GPS-guided drive- I can tell you that I was thinking ALL about it on the drive back to Asheville Saturday night....visibility south of Mt. Mitchel was about 100 feet, and I was down to about 25 mph for a while...
