Ode to the 928.

What sleeps in my garage
is no ordinary mirage
It awaits my recurring desire
the turn of a key, the power of fire
The rumble with cause
to tempt nature’s laws
A big smile from the sound
which speaks to those around
I could sit night and day
and listen to it play...

But what good is that
when there is so much more
The movement of the stick
and the pedal to the floor
The direction of the course
and control of the force
The will to make small
all others, they crawl

Oh, but the joy
of owning this toy
A madman’s obsession
is seen in his expression
From the parts to the whole
it is built like a song
A symphony on wheels
the conductor rides along
When I’m finished from the flight
I return it for the night
and pause, amazed with awe
from the sensation of the BWWAAAAAHHHH!!!

More stanzas - 'The Morning After'

Now with the morn'
my emotions they are torn,
The shifter cup broke
And the fuel pump did choke,
The timing belt shredded
while she was gulping the unleaded

To my Rennlist friends I now turn
for aid and commiseration,
It's just another day
in my 928 education.

Gosh Randy, it sounds like your morning SUCKED!

As I awakened in the morning
the pleasant sun’s adorning
came down from up above
and graced the skin of my beloved
I filled the sky, vast and clear
with the sound I love to hear
then I shifted into gear
and scorched the pavement without fear

She glides through the air
her curves are very fair
the trees and flowers stare
I warn you to prepare
The wind is crisp and light
the sun is glowing bright
A spectrum for the days
we disappear into the rays
