Ingition Coils

Sorry about that John and KBlair, should have added the disclaimer :0 <--- mud on face and eating hat, I hate it whe that happens.
I think Jim's car is in a whole differant catagory, with the upgraded engine management system. I see a lot of benifits to this conversion, the list is enless.
It looks as though it uses one coil for two cylinders.
Shane, it wasn't ment as a personal attack or flame, just a general note.

Randall,
No attack or flame noticed. But your right the only reason to buy new coils is to spruce up the engine bay. As Wally says "sex appeal".
John,
Had that very same thought. Gonna get me a powder coat kit and start redoing my intakes, cam covers, etc. Wanted to wait till I had two sharks so I could have one to drive and one to restore at leisure. Bout the Diesels: Got six Fairbanks Morse 12 cyl. OP's. They come with twin turbos and roots blower in series. Turbos spool up and cram yards of air though a water to air intercooler and then the blower stuffs the air receiver. Been tweaking them lately to reduce emissions. Talk about gross polluters. Are best available control technology is to retard the time on both cam banks to 41 deg, which really screws with the fuel consumption but does lower combustion temps enough to lower our NOx. Cheers

Actually been kicking around the idea shipping some seafood out. Some halibut, salmon and king crab. But everytime I do my family down south raids the freezer before I can get any to you guys.

Nothing lucky about it. I live out on a rock in the middle of the Bering Sea with some rather nasty weather. I work 6, 12 hr days, year round and am rather sick of seafood. I take it for granted anymore as do most everyone on the island. I try to gather some up before every vacation to share with family and friends, but generally don't even eat it myself. I'm do out of here in a couple of weeks so I'll try to bring some with as checked baggage. To save on freight costs. Problem is King Crab season is later in the year. Have to settle for Opillio. Boats are coming in now with 120 to 130k on them now.

Hmmm! Seafood!
-I was in Anchorage a month or so ago and noticed that there was a shop near F-Street that shipped fresh seafood around the country. Prices worked out about the same as Publix (grocery store), but I think they had to freeze it for shipment.
Anyway, I recently changed out both coils on my S2 in an attempt to solve a high-throttle miss, to no avail. I've learned that occasionally a coil can test out properly and yet still be bad under load- in fact I found this to be the case on my '80 Jetta airport car. It ran just a little rough...yet when I tested the coil with an ohm-meter, there was almost no resistance!
Funny thing: I recently took the 928 to a local shop for a computer diagnosis. They said it was most likely a bad injector and possibly bad gas- they added injector cleaner that contained methanol and suddenly the problem nearly disappeared~
Methanol? How in the world would that make a difference?
