S4 stereo questions
I want to replace the speakers in my 928. I am wondering if anybody knows how this thing is wired from the factory?
On the front door speakers, they look like a 4"(the bigger one), can a 4" component set be put in? Is there seperate wiring to each speaker? Are they a component type set-up with the main wires running to the larger speaker then through a crossover to the small tweeter? Or is there some hidden factory crossover system?
The rear looks like another 4" component set and a 6.5" near your elbow.
I am thinking that I may replace the fronts with a 4" component set and replace the 6.5" rears with a good three way. I would probably not use the rear 4" set. Then I can use a 4 channel amp. I may use a powered sub too.
Looking for comments and suggestions, what have you guys done?

i replaced my old stock spekers with some RFs (flame away) but they sound good! I added a Bazooka tube to the back instead of buliding up a fake floor for some big heavy woofers. I need the room back there as well for my luggage and didnt want to stack it on my speakers. Also, i can take out the tube at any time if i do an autocross. Adding a sour ce of bass was the SINGLE most drastic improvement to the sound in my car!
Still cant beat a ride with the windows down and the foot to the floor though ...especaially through the airport tunnel, right Dave

Snowing up there yet? When i get up there for the summer we will have to get together for a brew...ill be just down the road at my folks place.

Sounds like a plan <img src="graemlins/beerchug.gif" border="0" alt="[cheers]" />
we have had flurries all day. There is really nothing on the ground and the roads are dry so, I have been running errands all day in the GT.
Thanks for the reply. I have a bazzoka in my truck and have been really pleased with it. When you did the other speakers did you use the component style?
