Default Instrument Lights Dimmer Wiring Question

When I recently removed my pod for replacement, the wires from the intermittent wiper control wheel popped off before I could label them. Can
someone tell me how many wires go to the control wheel, as I seem to have
three candidates. Grrrrrr. Car is an 87 S4. Thanks.

Not surprisingly three!

2 yellow ones to one terminal and the yellow/red to the other. It doesn't matter which way around.
