Window washers that wash the roof
Ok....I finally fixed the hoses in the hood so that at least my normal washers operate. The intensive system will be handled later.
BUT: The "normal" washer system actually has such high pressure that it sprays over the windshield. When parked in the driveway, I can use the sprayers to hit my hatch window!
I know I didn't mixup the normal with the intensive system. All I did was replace hoses and valves.
I'm going to try to use a needle to point the jets more directly at the windshield, but is this superspray normal? All components are stock...nozzles, pump, etc., unless the PO changed them and didn't keep the records.
What do you think?

Dave,
I just changed my non-return valves on my high intensity washer and also on the standard system.
All four of the Porsche non-return valves were 'shot', so replace them. I have not taken one of the old one apart, but from my initial inspection it would appear that the non-return is a circular rubber non-return valve which may swell up restricting flow.
On changing the n/r valves I suffered the same as you and I adjusted the spray nozzles using a 'pin' and they now work fine. To conserve water you can leave them as they are and you can wash the following car's windscreen as well????
The high intensity washer on my car has the same intensity of flow as the standard system, so the high intensity may refer to the washing fluid.

I've replaced the check valves on mine, and the passenger side shoots clear behind the car, while the driver's side barely dribbles out of the nozzle. Think I need to replace some hoses, clean out the nozzles and do a little re-aiming. <img src="graemlins/jumper.gif" border="0" alt="[jumper]" />

I had the same dribbling from the driver's side until I replaced the tubing running to that side. I think that line had either kinked or had become partially disconnected over time. As I mentioned before, the pressure is great now.
