I am looking for a gently used rear fender liner for the right side of my '94 GTS.

New ones are nearly $600 a piece .

We have been looking at coming up with an aftermarket unit.

Your best bet is to repair what you have.

Make your own, it is a POS. On my GTS it looks like a piece of foam.

The original ones are definitely POS. What kind of plastic did they make them out of? It's so frickin' brittle!

Yes find someone to make an aftermarket replacement.......I'm in for two.

I have 2 pretty worn liners from the 91 GT in my garage, I would say a 3 out of 10 on condition...probably need to toss them.

It seems that the vendor who created these wonderful fender liners used a plastic that will over time degrade with heat, and the glue that they used to bond the foam to the plastic may have been an causial factor in the plastics degrading, would be nice to manu/fit a liner from a saturn or honda, or ??? , of course then it wouldnt be factory, 600.00 is a sad thing to have to purchase another one when you already know what its fate will be

A person might want to Rhino line a set and see what that would do..

just make a pattern out of cardboard, and match that to some type of thin plastic and there you go. I would either put a rubberized undercoating on it or a truck bead liner which is more durable and probably no heavier. The last think you want is to add 10lbs for a part that really is not functional at all.

I was looking to mount one, i didnt see any mounting tabs on my GT, but maybe someone with a GTS can post a pic where the screws go and where the tabs should be. I would like it because otherwise the rubber fuel filler gasket deal gets covered in tons of dried dirt clods.

The liners are purpose made for the GTS and carry a foam overlay on the top for additional sound proofing.
As already said the plastic becomes brittle.
I used some sound deading sheet and put the pieces back together like a jigsaw puzzle.
I know Schocki repaired his and posted on Renn - do a search and see what you may find.

I'm not sure the GTS ones are different than the '91 GT's etc. On my '94, it seems as if the liner stops about 1" from the inside edge of the fender!!! My suspicion is that they just continued to use the same liner from the earlier cars, even though the fenders were changed.

Whoever you get to make em for the GTSs have em make some for our '91 S4. The fender liners on it have more cracks showing than you'd see at a plumber's convention! Interesting how the liners on both 1985s that I've owned look just fine, yet both those sharks have 2-3 times the milage than the S4!

Roger - this is a good business opportunity - if you could make GTS style ones out of better materials but still with the sound proofing and have a trimmable lip so they can be cut down to fit all models - this could be a volume item for you...? It doesn't seem it should be too hard to mold these - they are really not that complicated? Sell them at half Porsche's price for a great margin and a better product?

The rear parts of mine were in the worst shape. I found that if I used a shortened and slightly narrowed (in some sections) rear inner liner from an S4 on the left side, and the same part on the right side, except installed "backward", I now have a pretty decent full liner system. HOWVER - I'd certainly like to have a set that are proper fit, one piece, flexible for getting in and out of the wheel well and DURABLE!!! Go for it Roger!!
