If you go too big on the back rubber it'll end up looking like my avatar.
Hate to run Bigger back wheels cause those back brake rotors will look even more teeeny.

Right now, 20's are about the largest wheel that you are going to fit under a 928 given the tire sizes available. I will most likely have 20's on my convertible, but there will be no wheel well liners and larger wells to fit bigger than stock rubber. That being said.....

The issues one is faced with, 20" wheels, is side wall height. You are going to deal with a 3 " side wall at best. Given that you are maintaining approximately a 25.4" - 26.1" rolling diameter in keeping the speedo semi accurate, you limited on sizes. Costs start to jump now too, as these are specialized tires. Unless you are looking to just show the car, you are faced with an impractical fitting. You must get more tire under the wheel well to compensate and in stock form, the 928 won't allow it. 3" side wall is going to give a **** ride and play havoc on your suspension and steering components.

I don't know how the other 19" owners are fairing, but I just pulled a rim the other day to hammer a lip back into position just from driving over an aged expansion joint on an interstate bridge. Thank God it was the inside lip!!! I could almost guarantee, that there are several guys out there with bent rims already....unbeknownst to them. Having 19's, you have to be really cautious as it is. Throw 20's on and the fun factor is getting close to zero.

Not to **** in your cornflakes, but 20's at this stage of the game is going to cost a whole lot more money in the long run, affording you a lot less enjoyment. I think we are at the threshold with 19's.

ive run through two sets of rear rubber on 19" 997 rims on my cars and one set of front rubber. ive just put fresh rubber on these rims and they are now on my fast road/track car for the limited street driving it does. the 19" give an acceptable ride and imo are not much different from the 18".

ive now got a 79 that im going to use more for the street, im keeping it on its 16" phone dials mainly for the look but also for the cost and practicality. they actualy work really well on the street.

I Like them a lot. Modern day phone dials. Those are some of the best rims I have seen on a 928. They preserve the circular design theme that the car had. Yea! BoooooooY!
