I am looking to buy a fairly nice 83 928s. 198k but all services done. Drives great, except the auto doesn't want to shift up unless you lift on the throttle; then it changes. Is this a valve body issue. Is this common. I get numerous answers from local transmission shops.

 

Sounds like maybe kickdown cable is tight
