Hi Justin, sweet job on the carpet. I too have the Brown interior and was gonna do a delete and put black stuff, but after seeing yours, I'm gonna keep it. I see on Gahh site they sell the raw material by the yard. How many yards did you buy to complete your interior? Also, did you have to sew a little?

unless you're really gifted in putting in raw uncut carpet, I suggest you buy a complete 928 set from any of the 928 suppliers. There are about 36 pieces in a 928......

you'll have the correct pieces, cut to their original specs, and then it's just a matter of replacing them one by one.

While I did not so the upholstery recovering work (I am still in the process of recovering piece by piece--not finished yet, I did do the carpet removal and install.

Largecar--

Top edge of the door gets a metal strip glued to it inside with epoxy resin. Straightens out the warpage you have in the pics of the door panel edge. The upholstery/cover glues only to the inside of the door panel, where it's wrapped around the top edge. If you glue on to the outsie face of the panel the covering wll look funny over time as it pulls loose. Lots of spring clamps while you are glueing, and some paint stir sticks between the outside face and the clamps to the upholstery doesn't get stretched/distorted/deformed by the clamp faces.

The pass side door panel has some "bumps" on the upper vertical face it where the plastic hold-downs are not correct. One possibility is that the wrong hold-downs are in there. Second is that they are correct part but not installed correctly. There are two different pins used on the door panel, de[-ending on location in the panel. When done right, the outside face is flat and almost no protrusion to deform the upholstery face. If you replace the old ones with new (cheap at maybe $1 per fastener) be sure to get ALL of the remains of the old ones out. Any stray bits will filter down and create anothe little bubble/protrusion bump. PET shows the number and positiions, but they are generally refrred to by color -- black or white. Makes it easy to order.

MPDano, I bought the carpet "kit" from GAHH. Thats the only way I would attempt this project, otherwise I would go completely insane, there are ALOT of pieces and ALOT of trimming even with the kit, I couldnt imagine what it would be like with just raw yardage, plus there's a few pieces that have seams and countours sewed into them. good luck

I need to put up a updated pic of it complete, like I promised, but never got to it.
