Plan on it! Im getting sick of showing up at Summit for Porsche events and never seeing a 928 (nudge - nudge TOM F!!). And DE's dont count!!

SP is a kick *** track too! Especially for a 928... not sure why everyone is so afraid to race it? Sorry to hijack the thread, sort of, see everyone for Friday at Frenzy!

May not be fear, but rather the cost and time commitment, neither is minor...

Thanks John!
I have a few things to line up to see if this can happen.
I would need a few people to help, especially if I was to do the Enduro.
Sorry to go off topic.
How is Summit Point to drive?

BeerFish has been around it 100's of time - he's the guy to talk to about track pointers.

I'll try to get all of the local guys to come out to support you.

I raced CCS sportbikes at summit and now have moved to SCCA (ITB) in a rabbit GTI. Summit points a great track and alot of fun on a bike or in a car. I wanted to run my 928 there but it's not expendable.

John-I have a full shop at my place in Front Royal and I'm about 30 minutes from the track. If you need an extra hand to crew for you or place to stash it, I would be more than happy to help.

Thanks to the assistance of many folks, plans are moving along quite well for this year's Frenzy. In addition to the host site, hotels and restaurants, we have a couple of sponsors lined up, a few Tech Sessions identified, ideas being kicked around for the Fun Run, etc. Today I will be firming up commitments and trying not to get in the way of the folks who are producing the T-shirts.

ALERT: For those who plan to stay at one of the two hotels, please make your reservations right away. The hotels would like us to reserve rooms by September 12 so they can properly accomodate us. Also, please register for the Frenzy event as soon as you can. The earlier we know how many will attend, the better job we can do with food planning, T-shirt orders, etc.

Please contact me with questions.

Tristan,
Between John and yourself it looks like the track car can find a home for several days.

Way to go Steve!!

I had recieved a slight scare yesterday from the owner of Funktion Auto. So I paid Walid a visit today. Turns out that he has been bugged recently about entering a car in the Redline Time Attack. You can see more info HERE He had volunteered for their next session in NOVA which happens to be the weekend of our event.

They have scheduled Walid and his M3 coupe entry for sunday out at at Summit Point. We lucked out.

So if any of you were looking for something to do on Sunday the 30th you now have a reason to go to Summit Point.

John V, I mentioned to Walid that you might be bringing a car for the PCA event the following weekend and he said that he would love to see it. He will be there at some point the 5-7th to watch and is looking forward to seeing your car.

Thanks for the hand with things everyone! Hoping for a great event!!

Michael

I also got my first look at a CGT at Walid's shop, I asked if he wanted to trade and he said he would but unfortunately it was already sold. For some reason I wasn't as amazed as I thought I would be. Checked out the CF brakes and the massive calipers, what's the 2nd itty bitty one for? Also looked at the engine and interior. I loved the exposed shocks in the engine bay.

For some reason I guess I was expecting more from Porsche as far as the looks go. It really didn't do much for me. Maybe a drive would.

I guess that knowing that driving home in my little 8-banger does the trick for me was plenty..

Default This 928 event looks fun and its not far, far away...

This will be my 1st 928 Frenzy event and my 3rd 928 event. I noticed a couple of familial faces(SITM) from the pictures posted, looking forward to socializing with a good group of ,"like-minded 928'rs".
I was planning on leaving Saturday morning 9/29 at 730am from Wilmington, Delaware via I-95s, does any from the DC/VA/MD area see any traffic issues with that plan? Any other advise on what to bring and or be prepared for the day/night event would also be appreciated.

Thanks in Advance, Aj

Default I hope to make it

I'm back on the road again. I'll try to make it. I'll be doing HPDC at Summit Point on the 22nd. Got to have upper A-arm and lower ball joint replaced before then. Also upgrading front brakes to GTS Big Reds, timing belt retention, oil change, coolant reservour replacement, and tie rod replacement. The list never ends, but when I drive her........It makes it all worth it.
I should know by early next week. I live in DC so won't need a hotel. This'll be my first "shark" event. I'm looking forward to it.
