Talking Door panel, arm rest fix!!

hey one again, I found an inexpensive way to fix those broken arm rests in our 928's. FOr the 2 928s taht I have owned and some others I've seen everyone has the mounts behind the armrest broken so the arm rests ratle and the door that opens and closes the little side pocket doesn't work properly. I pulled the armrest off there are like 6 little bolts. then i collectd all the broken plastic peices from the mounts that bolt the armrest to the door. I epoxyed those back into each ones corresponding place(like a puzzle) and then mixed some epoxy resin after the epoxy glue had dried. I also bought fiberglass shets and cut each peice to fit over the plastic mounts. I put one coat of resin on let it semi-dry and then put the fiberglass sheets on and repeated twice for each little plastic mount. Put it all back together and wa-la it is perfect no rattles and string as steel.

Cool

I went through the same thing awhile ago, except that I used aluminum to brace the 2 main mounting points. (The two 10mm bolts at the ends of the opening) I could do a pullup on mine if need be, and you can't even see it.
