Spark Plug Gap Variance

My manual calls for the plug gap (USA) to be @ 0.7mm = .028 in. What would be the damage if the plugs were gapped in excess to equal .030in or 0.7.5mm?
Also, I could not find anything related to this (still looking) in the manual but High Compression motors require a smaller SP gap than non HC motors. Is 0.7mm good across the board or is ROW gap different?.
TIA

Normally, the spark plug gaps increase as a result of wear. If you set the gap wider than specified, you may reach a point in time that it has widened too far for a spark to bridge that gap. The result will be an intermittant miss, that steadyily becomes more frequent. YMMV.

Drew,
If you look at my string about spark plugs, there was a good ref. to a web site about spark plugs. In this, it mentioned that you could increase the gap if your plugs were getting fouled. This would cause the plug to burn hotter. Another side affect would be a increased strain on your system such as wires and coil. It says not to increase the gap by more then .008" so you should be of with .030".
Good luck
