Anyone know what causes the squeal from the centre vent? a month ago it only happened once in awhile , now its every time , it lasts for close to 10 minuted , and fades.could it ba a vacume leak in one of the vacume solinoids?
On a different note , I listed the euro engine
on ebay tonight , just to see what happens!
When it squeals, try turning the fan control to high and then down again. That stops my squeal, I'm pretty sure mine is the fan. If yours changes or goes away, it's probably the fan as well.
The other squeal possibility is the inside temp sensor, round thing on the dash next to glove box. It can squeal and sound like the center vent.
not the fan , pitch changes if I move the slider
under the temperature slider , The one that directs the air to dash , vents , floor ect.
sounds like if you bloe up a ballon and slowly let the air out. Fine on cool days , but if it is warmer than 60, it will do it every time I start
the engine ,drive you crazy for 10 minutes , and then ------ gone!
Dan, the whole AC system still confuses me even though I got mine to work. Anyway, my thoughts.
Before I replaced the servo that opens and closes the footwell it made a high pitched squeel for about 10 secs. I checked it and it did have a vacuum leak so I assumed the noise to be the vacuum leak.
I believe there is another servo that controls the center flap. Also, all the vacuum lines controlling the settings on your control unit go to the header system and maybe it or they have a vacuum leak.
As usual, might want to start with checking all those vacuum lines with the mini-vac and the servos. Or try to figure out which setting causes it to go off and just replace that servo.
Here is a picture from 928intl site of the servo I replaced.
