Question Temp II sensor question

I would like to verfiy my temp II sensor.

The F/I test plan book states the the temp II sensor is like two seperate sensors. To check resistence, each of the two termainals should be measured to ground. I get normal resistence to ground on one terminal, the other measures open to ground. It looks bad to me.

Can anyone varify this before I spend the money for a new one?

Thanks in advance,
Greg

Greg,

The temp. II sensor is two sensors in one. Each pin is check individually to ground.

The sensor is bad

Greg, were there any specific symptoms that caused you to suspect that sensor?

Michael,

Car has a rich smell, like a diesel commuter bus. I was looking thru the LH jetronic book with a notion towards a mixture adjustment when I stumbled across the info on Temp II. The book says temp II defects can make the car run lean or rich or not at all. Temp II is mentioned often on this site as a source of problems in troubleshooting.

Looks like you may have found the issue. Thanks for the info. Yet another thing that I need to get in there and check!
