Smile Introduction

Hi All,
I've been lurking here at the board for the last few months and have finally decided to join.
I live in Ojai,CA. and have an '86.5, US Spec, Auto.
Original White on White with a current 97,000 miles, this car has served as my daily driver for the last 2 1/2 years.
Jager carbon fiber tip shifter, Momo "Fighter" steering wheel, Eclipse CD, 8" JBL Woofer, 17" Cup 2 wheels, K&N filter.
I'll have the S4 headlights installed in the next week.
Have made adjustments to the kickdown cable and throttle linkage for better response and 1st gear starts.
Had an RMB on until last week, when I yanked the twin cats. Installed the 928 Specialists "cat test pipes". The car breathes MUCH more freely and the performance is noticable. The catless/RMB combo was, unfortunately, too loud (Nascar loud, really!). So, I put the rear muffler back on and it sounds pretty nice now. The sound was better with the cats and with the RMB, but the performance is better without the cats and with the rear muffler.
I plan on getting an aftermarket cat back system to mate up with the cat bybass to improve the sound. The three pre-fabricated options for the '86.5 appear to be:

1) Devek with a Borla muffler.
2) 928 Specialists with a Spintech muffler.
3) Performance products with an Ansa muffler.

I would truly appreciate any comments on any of these cat back systems (especially any experience in conjunction with the cat bypass).
I'll let you know which one I ultimately use and how it goes.

I'll post some photos of the ride after the S4 headlight install.
Hope the "intro" wasn't too long.
Take care,
D

Welcome Derek.

Lots of folks here with cat back systems experience - but I ain't one of 'em.

I'm sure they'll be happy to help you out.

Derek, Welcome to the List. I lurked for a while too, till I paid my membership fee, then started posting.

Good question on the exhaust system. I'll be watching this one closely as I want something similar on my .5! Let us know how it turns out.
