Default Rims for a 1987 s4

I'm sure there must be an easy guide to figuring out what rims i can buy for this car that will fit without too many issues but i havent been able to find one.
Can anyone suggest some ideas or links to help me find what options would be available? anyone have suggestions for what to put on my new baby?
thanks

Read thru the New Visitor...FAQ topic posted at the top of this forum.

There's a post in there that should answer all your questions.

Andrew Olsen's calculator is a good starting point.

I just put a set of 18" Turbo Twists on my car, the calculator was helpful, though some members here helped a bunch when I asked about a specific width/offset.

Thanks callouie! My calculator is a good starting point. Generally speaking, it is preferred to get front wheels with about a 55mm offset. Some will say 50mm is fine - and I concur, but anything less and the wheels start to stick out and you get a tram-lining effect where the car hunts around in the ruts of the road.

For the rears, I think the calculator is your best bet for figuring it out. Some people want to put 9" rime, some 10" and my personal fav... 11". When you start having all these widths, the offsets start to jump around. Use my calculator, and unless you're going with 11" rims or a 285 or wider tire, try to give yourself about 5mm on both the inside and outside. Also remember, that the offsets rarely get you exactly the spacing you want. You often times need a spacer. I got my 5mm spacers from Wheel Dynamics. Great guys there.

Hope this helps.
