Cruise + Heated Seats

OK,2 questions.
First, is there a common reason for the cruise to be intermittent? Sometimes my cruise works and sometimes it doesn't. Where would you look?
Second. My heated seats have never worked. I have checked the fuse and its fine. Where else would I look for something common between both seats. Neither heated seat works. Not that I need them in CA but it would be nice to have everything up and running.
Thanx in advance guys

Hmmmm??
Is this a taboo topic or am I the only person who is having problems with these items.
I'm at the top of the list again so let's see where this question gets this time.

Rule 396-
patience. Sometimes people have other things to do.
Check the vacuum for the cruise control, but it sounds more like the lever contacts. Sorry, haven't been there.
Good luck,
Donald

Bernie-
I've learned....If your cruise can be set and then surges around the set cruising speed...then it is likely you need a new cruise control brain. Otherwise, it is most likely a "tempostat" or cruise control actuator, located in the drivers-side fender. Remove the plastic liner to access.
As to the heated seats...I don't have them. Funny thing....I hired a guy to put new leather on my seats about a year ago. He said the heaters are in place, and that the car wiring is there too. The only missing part is the rheostat...
Since I live in Central Florida, it is a moot point-
Anyway, good luck!

Bernie,
I have seat heat issues as well. One thing I found was that there's a passenger side dummy heat switch but no contacts in the switch and nothing under the seat to make it work.
The driver's side stuff is in place and I have narrowed it down to a break in the circuit somewhere in the heat elements. The wiring diagram shows what appears to be either a thermal cut-off, or overload protector located in the seat element, It's open.
I can review the diagrams and give you a place to start. You should look under both seats and make sure you have the wiring and relays for heated seats in place.

Thanx Alot guys,
I sometimes chime in again on my own questions just to get it to the top of the list again. I apologize if it looks like I'm impatient. Nothing is further from the truth.
To work on a 928 by yourself and have no patience makes no sense whatsoever.
Just that old problem of email losing the human touch I guess.
Anyway, I will check into the suggestions that were posted and let you know. That seems odd that the passenger seat has a dummy heater switch?
Doesn't bring to mind, German perfection now does it?
Thanx Again Guys

Bernie,
It suprized me too. I found no relay and if memory serves, the harness was not there either. There is wiring visable at the seat back hinge from the seat back to the seat bottom, indicating that the elements are there. But unless someone stripped the relay, switch guts and some wiring , the passenger seat did not come complete.

Bernie,
That's most properly the control box - I had the same failure, and tested the whole system according to the shop manual page 27-11 to 27-13. But first when I got a new control box from a donor car, the problem was solved.
The control box is placed central under the dash board (remove the vertical covering left to the rely box in the rear side of the car, and you see a flat alu box)
Later I read (somewhere) that someone has succeeded to repair the electronic card inside the box by re-soldering all the connections, but I have not tried that yet.
The best will be, if you have the possibility to borrow a control box from another Porsche owner
