Post Speaker wiring access

I have an ‘88 S4 with ‘90 interior panels. The ‘90 panels have three speakers instead of the two originally in the ‘88. Unfortunately the speakers from the ‘90 panel were toast; the foam surrounds are crumbling to dust. So I'm in the middle of trying to change out the speakers. It has been confusing because of the two different systems, the ‘88 has two 4 ohm speaker while the ‘90 6.5” is 2 ohm, 4” 4 ohm plus tweeter ?ohm. And they are wired with the 6 channel amp so that the 6.5 has two wire and the 4” and tweeter have two separate wires. I have the stock amp and I want the speakers to look stock. So my plan of attack is to change out the 6.5 and 4 with new Boston Acoustic RX47 and RX67 and leave the tweeter unattached for looks. I’ll wire the speakers together like the original 88 so I know it will work for the original amp load. So far they seem to fit (the RX47 co-axial tweeter is too high so I’ll need to use the new grill)

But what seem to be so simple....after hours dremiling out the 6.5”and retrofitting the housing to hold the new speaker I’m ready to wire. When the rear interior panels were installed (not by me) they kept the wiring plug and spliced only two of the ’90 four wires to the two wires (so signal only went to the 6.5”). I wanted to start my wiring from where they spliced of the original wires to the newer. I pulled the wire on the passenger side and was able to bring up the splice. However on the driver’s side, when I pulled up the wires, I ended up with disconnected ends. The splice is/was about 6” down the cutout for the 6.5", and there is no slack to pull up.

The question is...Can I get access to the speaker wire below quarter panel and fish it up? I really, really, really don’t want to remove the quarter panel to access the wire. There is a panel at the rear passenger floor with the seatbelt connection below. It has two screws that seem like it would have access to the wires. I tried to remove it but it didn’t want to come out. Is there a way to detach just the edge of the quarter panel without removing seat and intermediate panel?

Any help is appreciated, thanks in advance,

Never mind. I just yanked on the bottom end of the quarter panel, pulled it out of the door trim, and could get to the splice end.

thanks anyway.
