Question intercoolers

is there any advantage performance wise in adding an intercooler to the front of the existing intake tact?

hi fellow uk'er

there is no advantage in adding an intercooler. the intake air on the 928 comes straight in from the front of the car, along the intake tubes and then thro' the air filter etc.....nice cool air.

intercoolers are generally used on cars with turbo's or super chargers. here the incoming air is heated by the compression process, particularily in the case of a turbo which is exhaust gas driven and get damn hot! so the air needs to be cooled again, via the intercooler, to get back some air density..cooler air, higher density....more oxygen....more power etc etc.

so on a normally aspirated engine such as the 928's V8 (unless yours has a turbo??) an intercooler is just something else to drag around.

fluffy dice would have about as much effect as an intercooler on a normal 928

Cool

I was thinkin' about glueing a big 'ol PINK CONCH shell to the hood of my shark, just above the emblem. I haven't yet- I'm still trying to figure out how it will effect the coefficient of drag.

[or was that the coefficient of drag queen?]

Normy!

Talking

If I might be so bold as to suggest a few
tasteful sand dollars.
Truth be known I'm looking to add a big
Mitsubisi emblem front and rear with a stick-on Banner, also MITSUBISHI to cover the Porsche lettering on Pattycakes rear end.
I don't recommend the color co-ordinated, window trim dingleballs as they do gather a frightful amount of dust.
Has anyone found a 'WOODY' panel kit, something in a sublimely grained, contact paper?

Norm,
Package recieved, thanks.
A couple of Andrew's heading your way tomorrow, A.M.
