Default How do I remove the "pulse sender"

Part number 944 606 115 00 -- the sensor on my 89 GT that drops into the back top of the block. I've removed the pan-head screw. It won't budge. Is there a secret to removal?

Thanks,
Mark.

Agree 100% on Sterling's advice. Once you get it to turn, it should be a lot easier to pull up with some pliers.

Thanks, Sterling. I will try it. I already have the new one -- replacing it as a WYAIT on my interminable intake refurb.

Follow Sterlings advice and with luck and lots of lube you may get it out. No amount of lube and twisting would work for me and I had to resort to pliers and prying. I was not so lucky and broke it off. Ultimately, I removed the clutch and flywheel in order to punch it out.

Be very careful. Many here have broken them off. I almost dide rotating mine.

I soaked mine in lube and tied safety wire around it so I could tap tap tap it out with some tugs on the wire. Of course, I had spent about 4 hours on it until I thought of this.

I've had to replace about 10 of them, broke 9 outta 10 by being the most careful I could possibly be, and I'm seriously **** about that kinda crap.
So, plan on it breaking, just try not to break the top cap part off the bottom barrel part as it will be a beitch to remove.
Start spraying it a few days in advance with penetrating oil, grab a pint or two of ale and enjoy.
