Anyone install 3rd brake light on '85
Has anyone installed a third brake light on a '85 or another that didn't come factory installed? Is there a special wiring harness? Where are the connections made? Thanks!!

My 85 had the third light already installed by a PO. Actually, the light had been removed but the wiring remained. I just got another Porsche light from one of the Big 3. Unfortunately, it has white adhesive which shows through the window. See if you can find it with black.
It looks like he tapped directly into the lines for the brake lights behind the tool panel and ran the wiring behind the pillar on the rear side panel up to the roof.
Can't say how easy/hard it is to run wiring this way.

Dave,
If you get a small amount of "limo black" window tint and cut it in strips and install it in a way that it makes a footprint identical to the adhesive, the white adhesive will not show through.

Sounds like a great idea....where can I find that stuff?
I'm not looking forward to pulling the old stuff off. I suspect it'll be difficult to get the same sticking power when I re-attach it.
