I had only 35 miles on the last tank of gas that went in my 928 (daily driver) 5 weeks ago. So, I met a buddy from out-of-town for dinner, and got to drive her for the first meaningful time in week.
On the way home, I took a backroad around a local lake and came up on a Honda (CBR?) taking the same roundabouts. We both entered into mainstream traffic in a BIG way, with him ultimately getting the best of me from a dead start. When we passed a cop, we both slowed, and pulled up to the next light.
He said his dad had both an '84 and an '82 928 at one time or another, and said my car looked BEAUTIFUL, and was the cleanest he'd seen in a long time.
I said, thanks, but obviously not quite as fast. His reply: the bikes are a dime-a-dozen, but my car was unique.
A nice welcoming home situation for me....and nice to get a few miles on her tonite.
