I measured my tailpipes today on my S4 at 2.34" diameter from the stock muffler leading out to the small pressure fitted black tips. The PO bent the tips a bit so i thought I would upgrade them to stainless or chrome. Before doing so, I wanted you guys and gal to post pics of your muffler tip replacements. Complete exhaust systems aren't what I'm going for as I like the stock exhaust sound/setup. All I want is to freshen the look a bit.
Any info would be appreciated: where did you buy? how much? weld-on/pressure/clamp style? etc.
Here is a style that I am considering, but having some difficulty locating this double wall design in a clamp-on 2.25-2.50 ID w/ a slant design (to clear the bumper contour) at a reasonable price. The overall diameter is obviously a concern as the distance between the two pipes are so close. I'm thinking the ideal setup would likely be 2.25-2.50 ID, slant, beveled design (double wall), 3" OD.
What are your thoughts on this design for my 928 S4?

I assume your car has the dual pipe exhaust lilke my 91 model and all GTS models.
There are a variety of ways to go, in the order of least to highest effort to install:
If you want to retain the stock muffler and just make the tips look good, you could add a set of Stainless Exhaust tips such as these (click on image to see more information):
Or you could order an RMB from 928 International or 928 Specialists
Or visit your local muffler shop and see what tips they have available to weld on. One GTS owner in Southern California has an awesome oval tip that just follows the bumper cover cutout perfectly. But he doesn't know what brand it is, and we don't know where to get it.
Hope this helps!

Not bad, not bad at all. I don't know if my eyes are playing tricks on me or not, but are they or are they not angle/slant tips?
Has anyone else tried a different type/design. Let me see, Let me see!!
I kinda like the double wall type like the pic in my post, but having some trouble locating one in the right size.
Thanks Bertrand for the pic!

So, is 2.34" the right pipe size on our '90 S4's. I can't reliably trust my caliper measure because the previous owner bent the pipes a little. Before I make a final decision on a style (probably Nicole's) I want to make sure I've considered several other that would work and potentially closer to the double wall design that I posted above. Thanks.
