Andrew,

That's great that DR has a good support system for upgrades and your goal is quite attainable.

Where did you rent or buy your shark tuner from?

I have been reading "How to Tune and Modify Engine Management Systems" book. Great stuff, along with reading Supercharged -by corky bell. I just bought them new off amazon, a very good price on there too. Both are must haves for 928rs with serious modifications to prevent a meltdown.

Looks like membership in at least one of the other ones is steadily growing though.

Do you know why? I bet it's that POS underated relay in in the control head. The Aux. contacts burn out usually, it will still "click" but will not make contact. I don't know if they were still using that relay at the point your car was made, if so that's probably it.

DR has loaned it to me, but I'm seriously considering buying one if I can get enough people to chip in on one with me.

Well I've had a littel issue measuring boost. I have an electronic boost gauge that goes flaky when I hit 5500RPM. I've been relying on the Innovate MAP sensor on the AuxBox. With the old pulley I was pulling around 6.3~6.5 PSI according to my datalogs. Now I'm running about 7.5~7.8. So I picked up at least 1 psi.

I've got a ton of tuning to do, but at least I have a shark tuner for that task.

Fabio- You go girl! (Sorry, couldn't resist)

You are making some serious HP for so little boost. WOW. I just ordered a new 8 rib pulley from Kenne Belle in a 2.5 inch diameter going from my 2.75 inch ( I have an additional spare in this size for a twinscrew should anyone have interest) I have been running about 7 PSI up to this point and we'll see what the next pulley size available does. DR has a 2.36 inch I believe available....but I'm taking baby steps.

DR has loaned it to me, but I'm seriously considering buying one if I can get enough people to chip in on one with me.
I would be interested in either renting or going in with a group as long as the upgrade that John has for the 85/86 model year is included. There are no sharktuners available in the midwest at this time. I need sharktuned.

Regards,

Ken

Ken-
Where are you in Ohio? Our host (Sharks) from Sharks in Hell has an 86.5 that's supercharged. He lives in Ann Arbor. Maybe we can gang up on him and get a little community buy? Just thinking right now...

If you're running 7psi, I'm guessing that the 0.25" will put you just south of 8psi. You're not running the stock crank pulley are you?

I'm in Celina, Ohio about 2 hours south of Toldeo....so not all that far when compared to the next available tuner being in North Carolina.

I tried to run some blower speed comparisons and concluded the same thing...that 2.5 inch on the 5 inch lower pullley should be just shy of a 1 PSI increase in boost. If I could attain another pound I'll be very happy. My car is used for track DE......so I am out there hard at it for long periods of time (up to 40 minutes)

If you are able to generate some additional interests, please keep me in mind and drop me a PM.

Best regards,

Ken

I'm interested in the Shark Tuner, to rent or partner buy.
