Just to chime in that Tim and Tom's comments regarding the SOCAL thread are correct. A thread was started there regarding Eric Munck by someone hiding behind a new nickname that contained cheesy posturing, namecalling, a bit of a veiled threat and zero facts.

That post was summarily deleted. If there had been some sort of reasonable discussion posted, it would certainly have been left up.

I did not happen to catch the threads in question here on Rennlist, but if we lose a resource like Mike Schmidt, then we have truly lost out. Mike, please reconsider.

Hey Mike,
Lets be honest here.
Do you really think there was anything else to add to that thread?
The owner of the car in question spoke his piece and I personally didn't slam him for it. Once I had heard his personal statements, I felt there was nothing left to add to the thread except a response from Eric himself.
The thread was getting stupid Mike. Listers were attacking each others personal character and THAT is a list that I am not wanting to be part of. At the same time we were debating the GTS thread, I was thanking you about helping me with tuning my MAF on another thread. This list is about Porsche 928's, not bruised egos.
Despite the differences in opinion, I would gladly offer up my support to other listers with problems because that is why I came here in the first place.
All of us got slammed at one point or another during that thread. DEVEK was getting dragged into another e-brawl and I don't think they wanted to be there again either. It could go on forever.
We all had an opportunity to voice our opinions on the topic and I think we did.
Call it a day Mike and lets move on.

Cheers

Well, come to think of it, maybe we should all allow Mr. Mike Schmidt to share one last additional comment or opinion on the subject of Mr. Munck as after all, he was the first one to post off topic within Bernie’s thread and also was the first to post comments that all though close to the actual facts still needed correcting by the Black GTS owner himself who was, excuse me if you will Mike, actually involved with that incident. Now it seems Mike is complaining on the 928Message board as well so maybe we should spare those poor folks the pain and hear Mike out.

And for the record, Bernie is right, the only thing that was left to add to that thread was comments from Eric and neither myself, Bernie or Chris can speak directly for Eric nor "make" him post a response although I guessing that Chris has spoken directly to Eric himself from the sounds of it and I do repeat, “guessing” and “from the sounds of it”. I personally don’t have any actual facts to that.

So Mike, we are all listening, what is it you feel so slighted in expressing your first amendment rights? Do tell as we are all listening.

Tim Delarm

P.S. I’m posting this on both web forums.

Oh Dan Bise, please. Please. The post contained a link that led to a website that showed the man for what he is. How can you call a link to the Pony car website or the Ventura County Court website nothing?

I cannot wait to see how long the threads of your complaints continue when either you or Keith get the shaft in some shady deal.

For the record, I've deleted this post as Abby and myself came to an agreement off line of this forum and I don't believe it would be correct now in leaving my old reply directed at Abby up which would now be taken out of context. I hope everyone understands.

Abby,

I wish you the best and should we ever meet, I'd be glad to shake your hand as a fellow shark owner.

Cool

Well, I'm still trying to figure out how the hell my name got pulled into this, considering that I live 2500 friggin' miles away, and the only thing I ever "drive" in South California weighs 833,000 pounds~

[Thank you very much, by the way~]

Anyway, I really don't see much wrong with the fact that an individual or organization was "attacked" [for loss of a better word] here on Rennlist. Though I do think that it degenerated into something that wasn't worth the pixels.

In the past I have been "guilty" of flaming and have been flamed myself [this last deservedly so, after describing some irresponsible actions one night], and I think there is value to this if it is done correctly. The descriptions of A-1 Auto Transport and the thread about the guy in Dallas who is ripping people off are VERY valid points for people on this board. We owe it to each other to report bad business practices in order to prevent each other financial or mechanical devastation. I also feel that this is a forum for minor debate- hence my thoughts on the catalytic converter issue. Bear in mind, I always keep an open mind and read any threads along this line with interest- perhaps someone will eventually come up with a compelling reason to remove the cat afterall.

-I sometimes go off on tangents with my silly stories; I hope that people find them entertaining and not annoying. I just find it fun to write about things that happen around the ubiquitious car.

Really though, I only read a few posts of the "Spooled up GTS" thread [and please don't be insulted] but I quickly became lost and evaluated the whole thing as so much disinteresting drama. I think I went and read about how someone fixed their broken sunroof switch- far more interesting reading, in my opinion.

Personal attacks have no place here- only factual descriptions. There is an icon at the top of the posting for you to send a personal email to the person involved in order to vent your feelings, and I think that this is a far better method than Rennlist. A even better way is to work it out in person, as email/message board postings tend to be two-dimensional and it is possible for the wrong idea to be conveyed.

In the end, it was probably right for Rennlist to pull the plug on that thread, as it wasn't going anywhere fast and was only getting people worked up.

Mike, I hope you choose to stay; you have plenty of good things/knowledge to share. Thanks for your help if you choose to leave, however.

Normy!

I guess I need to step in here.

I am one of the co founders of SOCAL 928. We are a group of 928 enthusiasts that are dedicated to sharing the experience of owning a 928 here in southern California.

Eric Munck is a member and that is as far as it goes. He has offered his services to the members. Some accept, some don't.

What he does is completely independent to how we run our group.

I am the one that deleted the initial post to the SOCAL board about Eric. It was deleted due to foul language and the avenue this person took to make members aware of Eric's past dealings.

We censor our board based on 928 content and the way it is presented (language). Due to the size of SOCAL 928, we are also a target for spams as well...they are deleted often.

There is a post on our board at this time that references Eric's past dealings that will not be deleted...no reason to. We agree that everyone has the right to speak of their experiences, comments and feelings as long as it is done in a "civilized" manner. Several posts have been deleted due to this not being practiced...and most did not include Eric's name.

We feel that positive and negative issues dealing with 928's are welcomed for our benefit. If the posts concern warnings of a paticular business or person needs to be brought into the light, then we want to hear it. This is the same with parts or even cars that are for sale.

I know most of you out there and you know me. I know whether you have had personal dealings with Eric, be it good or bad. What you don't know is the countless calls and emails that I receive concerning Eric. I try my best to be diplomatic, even at the expense of sounding defensive.

I have told most all to contact Eric directly or post to the SOCAL board in a civilaized manner. No one has done so.

I believe we all have the right to be informed, but do it without emotion attached, it will come across with validity, especially having first hand experience.

Not to call it nothing, Kaz, but the original poster created credibility problems for himself with his posturing, plus it was all one side of the story and no smoking gun. You disagree, of course, so that's that.

Hey, that's classy. At least you have something to look forward to then, eh?

Well Dan if I had to choose between the next time you slid off the road on a cliff ridden canyon run or the possibility of you just losing out on some money and time, even I'd pick the less harmful of the two.

Dan,

I wouldn’t waste anymore of your time with this Kaz/LastV8 (Kasim Saul). He’s a real work of art and simply not worth it. Based on experience, he lacks any adult communication skills, unable to express himself in a respective manner and substitutes debate with threatening and challenging innuendos as I have traded several emails with him as have several others that I have talked to.

And keep in mind, he doesn’t even own a shark anymore so obviously he’s hanging around in hopes of getting a rise out of anyone silly enough to actually give him the time of day. As I see it, the only thing he has left to offer anyone on Rennlist is slinging **** and calling you a pus-y if you don’t agree with him or his south beach posse. Remember, he appears challenged in expressing himself in an adult manner and there is nothing to gain by giving him the attention.

And to go on record, I’ve had to already warn him about threatening me. It is really a shame.

Does anyone know why this person is still addressing me on public forum as if I do not have a private e mail address? Does anyone know why this person should fear me? Does anyone actually even care? Probably not. Tim it is no big secret that my car is sold, the new owner named the car MAKO and joined Socal 928. Doh!

Delarm. You sent no fewer than three e mails to me explaining all the careful research you've done on me even after you were told to ignore me. I believe you were told I'm all talk, that I just huff and puff but never actually get around to doing anything. Tim, all this research and no one gave you my number? Any number of the individuals you're spending so much time contacting about me, have my number. Yet you cannot dial the number and find out for yourself. No one on this board or any other wants to hear about this anymore. It's a dead issue and it bores us all. You're boring them, they're really tired of me BUT they do all realize that this is focused on you. Not them.

You fancy yourself a mature adult speaking to a child. Well this particular child gave you easy enough instructions to follow. You have the number. Dial it.

At the very least we can settle this issue at the racetrack. My driving skills and Audi S4 against your 928. We'll do quarter mile and dragstrip. How about that Tim? Does that ease your fear? It'd better now pick up the gauntlet at your feet.
